The island of Tenerife’s landscape has been shaping itself into its current form due to a large amount of volcanic activity. Volcanic phenomena have been particularly outstanding in the municipality of Guía de Isora over recent centuries….

Our Network of standardised Trails

PR-TF 69

This route allows you to view the many plots of land set aside for traditional farming, such as vineyard estates and a number of isolated homes. Also not to be missed are the rural settlement of Chirche – declared an Asset of Cultural Interest – and Caserío de Las Fuentes.

PR-TF 69.1

Standing on this route is the remarkable area of undulating lava, pahohehoe sheets and volcanic tubes. This trails takes you to the Los Arenales recreation area (Chío recreation area).

PR-TF 70.1

This route offers striking panoramas of the municipality, specifically Barranco de Tágara. Various ethnographic features are to be found along this trail.

PR-TF 70.2

This route provides breath-taking panoramic views of the Isora mountains, and it’s even possible to spot the islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro. We’ll come across indigenous species such as hairy-fruited brooms and golden chains, and can visit the Caserío de Las Fuentes area.

PR-TF 70.3

This trail is dominated by the malpaís formations and other intriguing volcanic structures. You can marvel at an ancient threshing floor built on pahoehoe lava, known as the Era de la Fajana de Charagueche and the Era de los Guanches.

SL-TF 201

This trail allows you to view traditional farming plots with drystone walls, and to take in the panoramic views of the municipality’s eastern edge. In this area of malpaís formations, for the most part the vegetation consists of Canary aeonia and isolated pine trees.

SL-TF 203

The route starts out passing through a pine forest on recently formed basalt deposits, and progresses through a highly uniform environment with small lapilli fields alternating with malpaís formations. You’ll also find a recreation area with campsite in this space.

SL-TF 206

The Barranco de Rodrigo and the Cruces de Ramallo are among the places of interest along this trail brimming with rockroses: bushes of striking white flowers traditionally used for smoking cheese.
